Understanding that effective church ministry depends on both pastors and lay leaders, the Central Conference wants to provide training opportunities for local Covenant church lay leaders so that they too, can feel confident and prepared to live into their call serving the local church.
We are calling this the LEAD (Lay Leader Equipping and Developing) Initiative. As a part of this initiative we are offering workshops especially designed for local church lay leaders. These workshops will be offered in several locations throughout the Central Conference in hopes that no one will have to travel too far to attend. There will be three different workshops offered in a three year time frame.
Workshop One will be offered in 2020. Registration will be open when workshops resume.
The workshop will cover such topics as:
- what it means to be a healthy, missional church
- what it means to be a healthy, missional lay leader
- Central Conference resources and where to find them
We encourage local Covenant churches to have as many lay leaders as possible attend one of these events. The cost is $10 a person and will include materials.
You may register online or download the registration form (when registration resumes) and send it along with a check to: the Central Conference, 4055 W. Peterson Ave, Suite 106, Chicago, IL 60646. The check should be written out to the Central Conference with memo: LEAD Workshop One. Please register by the Monday before the workshop of your choosing.
REGISTRATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE WHEN WORKSHOPS RESUME
If you have any questions about these workshops please do not hesitate to contact Jill Lind, director of congregational care.
